Review of The Lucky One by Nickolas Sparks

Title: The Lucky One
Author: Nicholas Sparks
Published: July 1st 2010
Pages:400
Rating: 5/5

Summary from Goodreads:

Is there really such thing as a lucky charm? The hero of Nicholas Sparks's new novel believes he's found one in the form of a photograph of a smiling woman he's never met, but who he comes to believe holds the key to his destiny. The chain of events that leads to him possessing the photograph and finding the woman pictured in it is the stuff of love stories only a master such as Sparks can write.

Review:

First of all, I love Nicholas Sparks and movies. Mr. Sparks is such a great writer. Anyways, back to the book. This book is so good, Mr Sparks doesn't disappoint. This book is a emotional roller coaster, and has a great story line. You fall in love with the characters. Its a great read from start to finish, but I have to admit I was a little shocked about the ending, I didn't think it would end that way, I still love the ending just thought it would happen differently. Any who, If you like Nickolas Sparks other books or movies, you will defantly love this book too.:)

PS I heard this book is going to be the next movie of his,CANT wait for that!

Review of The Devil Wears Prada

Title: The Devil Wears Prada
Author: Lauren Weisberger
Published: May 30th 2006
Pages: 448
Rating: 3/5

Summary From Goodreads:

Andrea Sachs, a small-town girl fresh out of college, lands the job “a million girls would die for.” Hired as the assistant to Miranda Priestly, the high-profile, fabulously successful editor of Runway magazine, Andrea finds herself in an office that shouts Prada! Armani! Versace! at every turn, a world populated by impossibly thin, heart-wrenchingly stylish women and beautiful men clad in fine-ribbed turtlenecks and tight leather pants that show off their lifelong dedication to the gym. With breathtaking ease, Miranda can turn each and every one of these hip sophisticates into a scared, whimpering child.

THE DEVIL WEARS PRADA gives a rich and hilarious new meaning to complaints about “The Boss from Hell.” Narrated in Andrea’s smart, refreshingly disarming voice, it traces a deep, dark, devilish view of life at the top only hinted at in gossip columns and over Cosmopolitans at the trendiest cocktail parties. From sending the latest, not-yet-in-stores Harry Potter to Miranda’s children in Paris by private jet, to locating an unnamed antique store where Miranda had at some point admired a vintage dresser, to serving lattes to Miranda at precisely the piping hot temperature she prefers, Andrea is sorely tested each and every day—and often late into the night with orders barked over the phone. She puts up with it all by keeping her eyes on the prize: a recommendation from Miranda that will get Andrea a top job at any magazine of her choosing. As things escalate from the merely unacceptable to the downright outrageous, however, Andrea begins to realize that the job a million girls would die for may just kill her. And even if she survives, she has to decide whether or not the job is worth the price of her soul.

Review:

If you have seen the movie of this book and liked it you will defiantly like the book. The book seems way funnier than the movie though. This book is a great read for anyone who is into fashion or just wants a good laugh. It is charming and witty and it would be a great summer read. I love this book and I will check out her other books as well.

Review of A Place Called Here

Title: A Place Called Here
Author: Cecelia Ahern
Published: June 4th 2007
Pages: 496
Rating: 4/5

Summary From Goodreads:

How can I describe this place? It’s an in–between place. It’s like a grand hallway that leads you nowhere, it’s like a banquet dinner of left–overs, a sports team made up of the people never picked, a mother without her child, it’s a body without its heart. It’s almost there but not quite. It’s filled to the brim with personal items yet it’s empty because the people who own them aren’t here to love them.

Since Sandy Shortt’s childhood schoolmate disappeared twenty years ago, Sandy has been obsessed with missing things. Finding becomes her goal – whether it’s the odd sock that vanished in the washing machine, the car keys she misplaced in her rush to get to work or the graver issue of finding the people who vanish from their lives. Sandy dedicates her life to finding these missing people, offering devastated families a flicker of hope.

Jack Ruttle is one of those desperate people. It’s been a year since his brother Donal vanished into thin air and the sleepless nights and frantic days aren’t getting any easier. Thinking Sandy Shortt could well be the answer to his prayers, he embarks on a quest to find her.

But when Sandy goes missing too, her search ends when she stumbles upon the place – and people – she’s been looking for all of her life. A world away from her loved ones and the home she ran from for so long, Sandy soon resorts to her old habit again, searching. Though this time, she is desperately trying to find her way home...

Review:

This book is really really good! I loved it. The characters are very likable and it has a great story. I like how Cecelia Ahern's books are not predicable. The book is just a great read but it did make me confused in parts. But in the end everything play out just as I would want it to.:) LOVED IT:P
