Review of City of Bones

Title:  City of Bones
Author: Cassandra Clare
Published: March 27, 2007
Pages: 485
Rating: 5/5

Summary From Goodreads:

When fifteen-year-old Clary Fray heads out to the Pandemonium Club in New York City, she hardly expects to witness a murder -- much less a murder committed by three teenagers covered with strange tattoos and brandishing bizarre weapons. Then the body disappears into thin air. It's hard to call the police when the murderers are invisible to everyone else and when there is nothing -- not even a smear of blood -- to show that a boy has died. Or was he a boy?

This is Clary's first meeting with the Shadowhunters, warriors dedicated to ridding the earth of demons. It's also her first encounter with Jace, a Shadowhunter who looks a little like an angel and acts a lot like a jerk. Within twenty-four hours Clary is pulled into Jace's world with a vengeance, when her mother disappears and Clary herself is attacked by a demon. But why would demons be interested in ordinary mundanes like Clary and her mother? And how did Clary suddenly get the Sight? The Shadowhunters would like to know. . . .

Exotic and gritty, exhilarating and utterly gripping, Cassandra Clare's ferociously entertaining fantasy takes readers on a wild ride that they will never want to end.

Review:

This is another book that I have heard so much of that might be turned into a movie too, that I had to read it. I am so glad that I did because this is now my new favorite series! I love the funny dialog that Jace and Clary has that actually had me laughing out loud.  I have to admit the beginning i had trouble with, I just could not get into it but once I started to read more and more I fell in love.  The ending was not expected for me though I knew some of it would happen, just didn't think about the major stuff.( I don't want to spoil it for those who didn't read it.) Now I want to pick up the next two books in this series and see how the plot unfolds. All in all, I really liked this book but looking at other reviews on Goodreads, seeing how many people hated it, it's like Twilight you either like it or don't. Pick it up and see for yourself:)

If you have read this series, what do you think of it? What about the movie, who do you think should play the characters?
